About my Background and Experience

I currently teach sections of Composition as well as Critical Thinking, although I have also taught Greco-Roman Cultures, Introduction to Literature, and Mythology classes in the past. I received my B.A. in English (with a minor in Mathematics and a teaching credential) from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas; my M.A. in English from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas; and my PhD in English (with an emphasis in Folklore) from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Lafayette, Louisiana. In my down time, I enjoy playing with my two sons and working on home improvement projects.

About My Approach to Teaching

I focus attention on discussion-rich classroom environments, encouraging students to draw connections between class content, their personal lives and experiences, and current local, national, and worldwide events.
