Kevin Muster (Drama Instructor) musterke@madamejael.net

Kevin Muster’s first experience acting in a higher education setting was at Yuba College, where he played Shylock in The Merchant of Venice.  It was during his time there that he developed an appreciation for the craft involved in bringing characters to life. Once he received his degree, he transferred to Chico State where he was able to play leading roles in a wide variety of genres, from Shakespeare to musicals to contemporary plays.  After receiving his BA in Theatre, he was recruited by several Graduate Programs and eventually chose to attend UCLA, where he obtained an MFA in Acting.   While there, his mentor was Tony Award winner Mel Shapiro and he was able to originate the lead role in Shapiro’s latest musical, Homer in Cyberspace.  He also played Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream for director Joel Bishoff and had the pleasure of acting for director Nora Ephron with the likes of Tom Hanks, William Shatner, Martin Short, Alicia Silverstone, John Hamm and Mila Kunis.  He began his teaching career at UCLA with undergraduate acting classes and a six week intensive acting course directed at recent high school graduates. He is currently teaching both privately and at Butte College.
